Paterson Pitts Group provides land survey and resource management services to clients throughout Otago and Canterbury. Paterson Pitts employs approximately 60 staff in six offices throughout Canterbury and Otago in Christchurch, Dunedin, Alexandra, Cromwell, Queenstown and Wanaka.

The size of our firm enables a range of professional services and expertise to be delivered locally, with the advantages of wider group support as required. We have a broad and long-standing base of professional experience and have an extensive understanding of the relevant district and regional plans, bylaws, policies and procedural requirements of the various councils of Otago, Canterbury and Southland.

Our highly skilled and experienced staff bring together all aspects of the land development process under one banner. Where necessary we coordinate outside experts such as geotechnical engineers to ensure that all aspects of your land development project are covered. We are experienced with local authority rules and regulations and have established contacts within those organisations who we can call on to ensure that your project is kept on track.

OUR HISTORY

Paterson Pitts Partners Ltd has its beginnings in the Dunedin firm of N & E S Paterson Limited, which was established in 1900 as a Land Surveying, Land Valuation and Real Estate firm. Paterson Pitts Partners Limited was established as a surveying firm when N & E S Paterson Limited was reorganized into several independent professional consultancies in 1984. The firm expanded and now has five offices throughout Otago and one office in Canterbury.

Sound Understanding of RMA and Local Authority District Plans
Almost every land development project will require some form of consent  under the Resource Management Act 1991. We have a thorough knowledge of the area’s District Plans and specialize in preparing Resource Consent applications for subdivisions and other land uses. When the going gets tough, we have the staff who can take your case through to Court as an expert witness if need be.

Minimizing risk
We provide a single point of contact and responsibility for clients via one of our principals or senior employees. With one point of contact this minimizes time, cost and risk involved in land development projects.

Efficiency
We utilise the latest design software, to enable efficient design processes. This allows more time for refinement and considering design options to achieve an efficient design which balances your requirements and any compliance standards whilst seeking to minimize costs and maximize returns.

Experience
Paterson Pitts specializes in feasibility studies, subdivision design, consenting, roading & services design, preparation of quantities & contract documentation, tendering and analysis of costs, project management, confirmation of any payment claims, as-builts, pegging of new allotments, preparation of new survey plans and completion of Council compliance documentation.

The Specialist Generalist
We have specialists who can handle large greenfield subdivisions ranging from 50 to in excess of 350 allotments. We also cater to  our smaller clients and are able to utilize or adapt our specialized skills to any sized subdivision and land development project. In short we know a lot about a lot, no pun intended.

We consider this to be one of our strongest aspects in that no matter what it is you are proposing we have someone within our group who has the experience necessary to ensure your project is a success.
